LOOKING FORWARD TO 2009

By the time you read this, we'll know who the winners are in the KAC D2 2008 Writing Contest, which means it's time to start gearing up for the 2009 contest.

Well, not quite yet. We'll give you the summer and fall to start dreaming up your entries for the 2009 contest. There will probably be some small changes in the rules, but we'll try to post them as soon as possible on next year's blog, which is http://writingcontest2009.blogspot.com/ . Sooner or later, this 2008 blog will disappear.

By the way, if you're reading a hard copy, go online. My printer only does black and white -- color is better.

I FORGOT THE COFFEE PLACES

When I asked other Kansas Authors Club District Two members to help me spread the word about the 2008 writing contest, I forgot one of the places most frequented by writers and readers -- COFFEE HOUSES, Starbucks, Common Grounds, Daily Dose, places like that.

I really appreciate the effort from KAC D2 members in asking local newspapers to print the media release, and for libraries to post the rules.

Next time you go to your favorite coffee spot, please carry a copy of the rules with you and ask them to post it in a conspicious spot.
